Hypertension

HyperTension

Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, is a chronic medical condition in which the force of blood against the walls of arteries is consistently elevated, leading to potential damage to the blood vessels and organs such as the heart, brain, and kidneys. Blood pressure is measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg) and is considered high when consistently at or above 140/90 mmHg. Risk factors for hypertension include age, genetics, obesity, smoking, high salt intake, and a sedentary lifestyle. Hypertension often has no symptoms, which is why regular blood pressure monitoring is crucial in diagnosing and managing the condition. Treatment may include lifestyle changes and medication.
